Who We Are

Two shortages. One platform.

Afrigreen Power & Data Infrastructure (Private) Limited is a Zimbabwe-registered infrastructure platform focused on two closely connected priorities: reliable renewable power and resilient digital capacity. Our integrated approach brings together project development, financial discipline and strategic partnerships to address both requirements within a coherent delivery model.

Our Mission

To design, build, own and operate renewable power and digital infrastructure that closes Africa's energy and connectivity gap — delivering dependable electricity and future-ready computing capacity to communities, businesses and the digital economy.

Our Vision

To be a leading pan-African developer of integrated clean-energy and data infrastructure — the platform that powers the continent's businesses, connects its people, and hosts its digital economy, from generation to the cloud.

Integrated by design

One of the few platforms in the region built to develop power generation and digital infrastructure as a single business, not two separate bets.

Zimbabwe-anchored, Africa-facing

Registered and headquartered in Harare, with a mandate and structure built from day one to develop projects across the wider continent.

Built for the compute era

Positioned at the intersection of Africa's two fastest-growing infrastructure needs: firm clean power and AI-ready digital capacity.

Why Africa, Why Now

Two deficits, one infrastructure imperative

Africa's energy deficit and its digital infrastructure deficit are two sides of the same investment opportunity. Zimbabwe illustrates both — and shows why power and data infrastructure are best built together.

The Power Gap

2,200 MW
National grid demand — against a fragile, coal-dependent supply base prone to shortfalls.
~10%
Of the 1,100 MW clean-energy target set for 2025 under the National Renewable Energy Policy has been delivered to date.
US$9.13bn
Investment the Energy Development Compact aims to mobilise by 2030 — roughly half from private capital.
300+ days
Of annual sunlight — a solar resource that remains largely untapped at utility scale.

The Digital Gap

149 / 193
Zimbabwe's rank in the UN E-Government Development Index (2024) — telecom infrastructure is the weakest pillar.
+0.75%
Estimated lift in GDP per capita for every 10% rise in a country's digitalisation score (ITU).
National Priority
Government-backed "Smart Zimbabwe 2030" strategy targets an AI-ready data centre and tech park.
Power-Constrained
Data centres and AI compute need firm, dedicated power — the binding constraint on digital growth.

The Opportunity

Where these two shortages intersect is where Afrigreen is built to operate: developing renewable-generation opportunities and pairing them with data-centre and compute infrastructure, so that digital growth in Africa is no longer capped by the availability of firm, affordable power.

What We Do

Power and data, one build

Power Infrastructure

Generation · Transmission · Storage
  • Develop, construct, own and operate renewable generation, transmission, distribution and storage assets across Africa
  • Generate and supply electricity from solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal and other renewable sources
  • Design and build power plants, mini-grids and off-grid systems for underserved communities and industry
  • Deliver substations, transmission lines and battery-storage systems as integrated turnkey infrastructure

Data Infrastructure

Compute · Cloud · Colocation
  • Develop, construct, own, lease and operate data centres and server-farm facilities
  • Provide colocation space for enterprise, telecom and hyperscale customers
  • Build cloud-computing platforms and infrastructure-as-a-service capacity for the region
  • Deploy artificial-intelligence and other high-density digital infrastructure facilities
Our Model

Power and data, engineered as one platform

Reliable, dedicated power is the single biggest constraint on data-centre and AI infrastructure growth in Africa. Because Afrigreen develops both sides of that equation, we can co-locate data and compute facilities with our own renewable generation and storage — reducing exposure to grid instability, lowering the energy cost of digital infrastructure, and shortening the path from site selection to operational capacity.
